Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Anime Track (the website animetrack.org and the app at app.animetrack.org, including the Android app) processes, why, and what rights you have. In short: we keep what's needed for the app to work, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything whenever you want.

Legal basis
- Providing the service you ask for when you create an account: your account, your list, social features and the subscription.
- Your consent: notifications (you turn them on and can switch them off by type in Settings) and the waiting list.
- Legitimate interest: keeping the app secure, preventing abuse and fixing bugs.
- Legal obligation: keeping the billing records that tax law requires.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or hand over your data to anyone for advertising. To run the app we use these providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database and sign-in. Servers in the European Union (Ireland).
- Google — Google sign-in, notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and Android payments (Google Play).
- Discord — Discord sign-in.
- RevenueCat — keeps your Anime Track+ subscription status in sync between Android and the web. It receives your Anime Track user ID, not your name.
- Stripe — Anime Track+ payments on the web.
- OpenAI — generates AI Discovery suggestions and some synopses. It only receives the search text, never your name or email.
- Sentry — error reports, without personal data.
- Cloudflare — website network, security and hosting.
- An email delivery provider, for messages about your beta access.
- Our own server in Spain, which prepares catalogue data for the app.
Some of these providers are in the United States. In those cases transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
What you publish on your profile, your public lists, comments and group messages can be seen by other users depending on your settings. Direct messages are only visible to the people in the conversation.
How long we keep it
- Account data, for as long as you have an account. If you delete it, your account and all its content are removed.
- The waiting list, until we answer your request or for 12 months at most.
- Payment and billing records, for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or take your data with you (the app lets you export your list), and to object to or restrict its processing. You can delete your account yourself from Settings. For anything else, email jonathan@neiro.es. If you think we haven't handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or your local authority.
Minimum age
You must be at least 14 years old to use Anime Track, the minimum age of consent in Spain (Article 7 of Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection). You confirm this when you sign in.
Cookies and local storage
- No advertising or tracking cookies. Neither this website nor the app uses them.
- Essential local storage. The app stores in your browser or device what it needs to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, like language or theme. The app can't work without it, so it doesn't require your consent, and it's cleared when you sign out or clear your browser data.
- Google Fonts. To display fonts, this website and the app load them from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When that happens, your browser sends Google your IP address and the usual technical data of any web request (browser, language), needed to deliver the font file. No cookies are set for this. See Google's privacy policy.
Changes
If we make an important change to this policy, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
